As game time approaches for Game 6 between the Winnipeg Jets and Dallas Stars Mark Scheifele's game status has been confirmed. Earlier today, Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff revealed that Mark Scheifele's father had passed away. After this announcement, Scheifele's status for the game was in doubt as he spoke to head coach Scott Arniel and considered his options. Many expected Scheifele to sit this game out and spend time with his family but instead he will play in honor of his father and try to keep his dream of being Stanley Cup champion alive. <h3>Mark Scheifele Will Be In The Lineup Against The Dallas Stars</h3> Now just before puck drop it has been confirmed that Scheifele will indeed play despite the unimaginable loss he sustained. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/br_openice/status/1923857757641273795'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/tsn_sports/status/1923858521235300616'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> Arniel himself confirmed the news in a press conference before the game. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/nhljets/status/1923858408324857962'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> After the announcement was officially made, Scheifele was seen walking into the arena to get ready for tonight's game. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/jeffkolbfox4/status/1923851720167170349'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> When asked why he decided to play tonight Scheifele had a simple answer it is what his dad would have wanted. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/ginohard_/status/1923862915414884611'><div style='border:1px solid #CCCCCC;border-radius:10px;padding:20px;width:300px;'>Loading from Twitter ...</div></a></blockquote></div> With this confirmed, the Jets will now have the heartbeat of their team back in the lineup for a must win Game 6 to extend their season.
