Tonight, Winnipeg Jets head coach Scott Arniel went on a tirade calling out his players for lack of effort in the embarrassing loss to the Red Wings.

The Winnipeg Jets remain near the bottom of the Western Conference looking to claw themselves back into a Stanley Cup Playoff spot.
Tonight the Jets had a great opportunity to get back in the race with a game against the Detroit Red Wings.
Instead of coming out with urgency and energy, the Jets came out flat and were utterly dominated and embarrassed by the Red Wings.
After the game, Jets head coach Scott Arniel spoke to the media and laid into his team calling them out for lack of effort and soft play in the loss.

During his post game press conference, Scott Arniel was furious with his players calling tonight's game one of the most embarrassing in the last month.
That game didn't turn. That was one of the most embarrassing games for me in the last month. All of us. We were looking for a pond hockey, don't get hit, don't hit anybody. Just play an easy, soft game. That's pretty much what we did for two periods.
He continued and reiterated that this kind of effort is not good enough during a stretch when the Jets need every point they can get.
We're fighting for our lives and we go out and lay that egg. It's not good enough, not good enough....That was two points that we needed badly. Not good enough.
This is a level of frustration and emotion we have not often seen from Arniel leading one to wonder whether he is starting to feel the pressure of the situation begin to mount.
With the loss, the Jets find themselves 8 points out of a Stanley Cup Playoff spot and still struggling to stay in the race.
