Winnipeg Jets defenseman Colin Miller was helped off the ice during today's game against the New Jersey Devils after he was hurt when he crashed into the boards heavily.
During their game today against the New Jersey Devils, the Winnipeg Jets lost defenseman Colin Miller, and they hope he's not too seriously hurt.
He fell into the boards during the first period and needed help getting back up, and immediately went down the tunnel to the team locker room. He would eventually reemerge and try and give it a go in the second period, but quickly departed again.
The Jets then ruled him out for the rest of the game.
So far this year, Miller has been limited to just 14 games and has one assist.
The Winnipeg Jets Have Now Won Two Straight Games After A Franchise-Worst 11 Game Losing Streak
There was nothing going right for the Jets dating back to last month, as they lost 11 straight games.
It was the worst losing streak in franchise history, even dating back to their days of their original identity as the Atlanta Thrashers from 1999 to 2011. Even the expansion Thrashers, who won only 14 of 82 games in their first year, never lost 11 straight.
But the Jets managed to beat the Los Angeles Kings 5-1, and then followed that up with a 4-3 win today at CanadaLife Centre over the struggling New Jersey Devils, who are on a losing streak of their own, which included an embarrassing 9-0 loss last week to the New York Islanders.
With today's win over the Devils, the Jets are now no longer the worst team in the Western conference; that title now belongs to the Vancouver Canucks.
