Jets coach Scott Arniel provided a tough injury update on defenseman Neal Pionk, who, after falling last night, will now be out week-to-week.
The Winnipeg Jets will have thin defense over the coming weeks. Coach Scott Arniel revealed on Wednesday that Neal Pionk, Haydn Fleury, and Colin Miller have all been listed as week-to-week.
What happened to Neal Pionk last night
Pionk returned from being sidelined for the Friday game due to a shot-block injury to his foot and played during the win against the New York Islanders. After he fell last night, his status has now changed to week-to-week.
"It's been going on, and then he fell last night and kind of re-aggravated it."

Fleury is still sidelined, having been stretchered off during the Jan. 7 game against Vegas, after being hit in the game by the Vegas Golden Knights, and it was confirmed that he has a broken nose and a bruised back.
Miller has now been added to the list of sidelined players, having injured his lower body during Sunday's win against the New Jersey Devils.
Arniel then announced that the Jets will recall Elias Salomonsson from their AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose.
Why not all the news was negative for the Jets
On a more positive note, forward Morgan Barron (upper body) might be ready for Thursday's game at Minnesota. According to Arniel, the team will see how he's feeling after practicing in a full-contact jersey for the first time since he was hurt.
Due to the injuries to some of the defensemen and the uncertain position of Barron, the Jets have been forced to work out a new formation in order to increase positioning in the standings.
