The Canucks have provided a frustrating injury update on goaltender Thatcher Demko, who has already missed 12 games this year and was hurt once again during last night's loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As if the season for the Vancouver Canucks wasn't going badly enough, they just lost goaltender Thatcher Demko once again.
Demko was hurt during Vancouver's blowout 5-0 loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs last night, during which he allowed three goals on just six shots. But the team revealed that he was hurt after getting replaced by backup Kevin Lankinen, and head coach Adam Foote said that he'd be reevaluated in the coming days.
The verdict is in, and the Canucks are once again putting Demko On Injured Reserve as announced by general manager Patrik Allvin.

Nikita Tolopilo was called up from the American Hockey League affiliate Abbotsford Canucks under emergency conditions for the Canucks, who are tied for last place in the Western Conference.
Thatcher Demko Has Already Missed Several Games With An Injury This Year
Demko, who has developed a reputation for being injury prone, has already missed 12 games earlier this season.
Last year, he missed the majority of the season, as he was unavailable for 44 games. Even though the Canucks missed the playoffs, one of the positives was the play of Kevin Lankinen, who was signed to a one year contract and later parlayed that into a five year extension.
But like the rest of the Canucks, Lankinen is also struggling.
Demko was also infamously hurt during Vancouver's most recent trip to the playoffs, getting hurt in the opening game of the WCQF against the Nashville Predators.
