The Canucks made several roster moves today, recalling Elias Pettersson and Nikita Tolopilo under emergency conditions, while sending down Jiri Patera.
The Vancouver Canucks shuffled a couple of their young players from Abbotsford back into the NHL mix.
Defenceman Elias Pettersson and goalie Nikita Tolopilo were sent down to the AHL for a brief stretch, and just one day later, the team announced they'd been recalled to rejoin the NHL squad.

Tolopilo's return comes as an emergency addition, giving the Canucks more goaltending depth for their upcoming games.
To round out the moves, Vancouver sent goaltender Jiri Patera back to Abbotsford, balancing out the roster needs without overloading.
Why Elias Pettersson has been solid on the Canucks' blue line
The 21-year-old Pettersson has two assists in 24 games with the Canucks this season, showing flashes of the talent that made him such a focal part of the club's plans.
He made his NHL debut last season with Vancouver, where he compiled one goal and two assists across 28 games.
The 25-year-old Tolopilo has gone 1-1 with a 3.56 GAA and .892 save percentage in his two starts this season. He was briefly given time off earlier this week when his wife went into labor, and he's expected to rejoin the team right away.
The next game for the Canucks is Friday against the Utah Mammoth. They will be trying to stop a three-game slide and will lean on Pettersson and Tolopilo, should he be called into action, to steady both the defense and the crease for the very important night.
