The Canucks Have Officially Announced Elias Pettersson's Trade Fate
It's official, the Vancouver Canucks have finally announced what they plan to do this season with Elias Pettersson, and it appears they won't be trading him.
The trade rumors surrounding Canucks' Elias Pettersson didn't seem to be going away lately, as just recently NHL insider Darren Dreger suggested Elias Pettersson's time in Vancouver might have been nearing its end.
The Canucks plan to keep Pettersson past the trade deadline
Today, an update was provided by the Canucks organization regarding what the team plans to do with Pettersson now that the 4 Nations break is upon us. It appears that the team has no intention of trading him.
NHL insider Chris Johnston recently spoke about the situation too, saying he felt it would be quite a long shot for Pettersson to be traded by the Canucks.
"I'll leave the door cracked just slightly, but let's call it a 1% shot. A very long, long, shot that he would still be moved before this deadline. But let's see what happens in the off-season.
The Canucks want to let things breathe after that Miller trade. They want to give Pettersson a chance to regain his form. And so I don't think he's in play now truly in these next four weeks."

It appears that Pettersson will end off the season with the Canucks, and the entire situation could be re-evaluated in the offseason.
Fans are hoping now that a decision has been made on Pettersson, at least for this season, that the team will be able to finally put the drama aside and focus on playing good hockey down the stretch in order to qualify for the playoffs.
