This evening a new report has revealed that one of the top defensemen available on the trade market would prefer to land in Vancouver.

The Vancouver Canucks are expected to be one of the most active teams this summer when it comes to trades and free agency.
The Canucks want to upgrade their forward corps around Elias Pettersson and will likely have to replace Brock Boeser.
In addition, the Canucks have been looking for another defenseman to compliment Quinn Hughes and take some of the offensive burden off of him.
A report from multiple insiders has revealed that one major name to keep an eye on is Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram.

NHL Insiders Reveal Key Young Defenseman Is Hoping To Land In Vancouver

Over the last several days, trade speculation surrounding Byram has picked up as he has requested a move away from the Sabres.
Byram found himself behind Rasmus Dahlin and Owen Power in the Sabres pecking order and wants a bigger role on a new team.
According to Elliotte Friedman, one of the teams most interested in securing Byram's services has been the Vancouver Canucks.
Now, a report from Colorado Avalanche beat writer Adrian Dater has confirmed that Byram himself is hoping to land in Vancouver.
Byram of course arrived to Buffalo in a trade deadline deal during the 2023-24 season that sent Casey Mittelstadt to Colorado.
Now, just over a year later, he will likely be on the move again and could find a home back in Vancouver where he spent his WHL days playing for the Vancouver Giants.
In a trade for Byram, the Canucks would likely have to give up significant assets to land the 24 year old former top-five overall pick coming off of a career year statistically with 38 points in 82 games.
In his career to this point, Byram has been a hyper-mobile and reliable two-way defenseman who has Stanley Cup pedigree as part of the Avalanche team in 2022.
