Kiefer Sherwood had a fantastic season in 2024/25 with Vancouver, but now an agent switch has sparked rumours about his extension talks with the Canucks. Last season was a tough one in Vancouver, but through those struggles there were some major bright spots, with the obvious one being captain Quinn Hughes and his Norris Trophy caliber season. The other was veteran Kiefer Sherwood, who seemingly found a home in Vancouver as he set the National Hockey League record for most hits in a season, finding a fantastic role in the team's bottom six.
Agent switch sparks rumours of an exit from Vancouver
On top of the hits, Sherwood had a solid 19 goals and 40 points in 71 games played, both career highs for the 30-year old, but on Saturday it was reported by Rick Dhaliwal that Sherwood has changed agents.

Loading from Twitter ...

While that's usually not notable, Sherwood has one more season left on his current deal before becoming an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2026, paying him $1.5 million a season, and unsurprisingly, the veteran forward wants to get paid.

Loading from Twitter ...

To this point, we've heard little about a contract extension with the veteran forward, and as a result, this has sparked speculation over his future, and after his performance last season, it's safe to say that he's worth more than the $1.5 million that he'll receive this year. For now though, he'll look to take the ice again in 2025/26 and show he can be a key member of a Canucks potential run to the Stanley Cup Playoffs, and if that happens, even with a change of agent, he'll be getting great offers as a pending free agent.
