The Canucks had plenty of locker room drama last season, and now Jake DeBrusk has revealed what it was like to be in the middle of the situation.

Last season was a disaster for the Vancouver Canucks, as the team went through struggles both on and off the ice, with the feud between J.T. Miller and Elias Pettersson defining their disappointing campaign.
That eventually led to the team breaking things up by trading Miller to the New York Rangers, and now the team that's remaining is left to turn things around and get this team back into a contending state.

Jake DeBrusk opens up on what the locker room drama was like in 2024/25

Unsurprisingly, knowing the type of person that Jake DeBrusk is, he handed things like a true professional, and when asked about the season, he had nothing but nice things to say about what was a very tough situation.
"J.T. had me over for dinner a couple of times and I love him a lot. I was sitting beside Petey in the dressing room and we hung out a lot. It became a thing where I was almost the middle man.

In all fairness I wish the best for J.T. and his family, They welcomed me. For me it's unfortunate. I wanted to play longer with them but it's not my decision. Trades happen all the time."

Individually, both Pettersson and Miller were clearly great people, meaning that it may have been tough for some to interact with them given the drama, but as DeBrusk said, he has love for both players in what turned out to be a very tough scenario for everyone.
In the end, the team split up the veterans, and now they head into 2025/26 hoping for a drama free campaign, and with the talent on this roster, if they can get that, this may be a very fun season.
