This evening, a new report from insider Rick Dhaliwal has indicated that this upcoming season could determine Quinn Hughes' fate with the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks fell well short of expectations this season missing out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In a season full of drama and conflict, the Canucks made several big moves the most notable being the trade sending J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers.
Now as the offseason begins the Canucks are expected to be major players both in free agency and on the trade market.
While the Canucks are expected to be major players insider Rick Dhaliwal has admitted that NHL ready impact talent is difficult to come by.
With forward Brock Boeser heading to free agency the Canucks will have plenty of funds to use to upgrade the roster immediately.
Tonight a report has indicated that this offseason could determine the future of the organization and captain Quinn Hughes' place in it.
Hughes is heading into the second last season of his contract and has potentially placed major pressure on the organization to take huge steps forward next season.

NHL Insider Reveals Quinn Hughes Time In Vancouver Could Be Nearing An End

According to Dhaliwal's sources, if the Canucks underperform and miss the Stanley Cup Playoffs once again next year, then Hughes could look to request a trade and move on before his deal expires.
With Brock Boeser already likely leaving the Canucks this summer, losing Quinn Hughes would then almost certainly guarantee the need for a rebuild in Vancouver.
The Canucks this summer will have just over 12 million dollars to work with in surrounding Quinn Hughes, Elias Pettersson and the rest of the core with enough talent to get back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
If this offseason becomes a failure we could see Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford pull the plug on the core group and hit the reset button much sooner than expected.
