NHL insider Jeff Marek revealed that the Canucks are not done yet after the Dakota Joshua trade, and that it was just the beginning in order to clear cap space. The Dakota Joshua trade that relieved cap space after Evander Kane signed was indicated by hockey insider Jeff Marek as just the beginning of what's to come. The Vancouver Canucks are not done yet. - Jeff Marek Vancouver is targeting a second-line centerman, league sources report, and is seemingly building towards a playoff push. With the 2025-26 cap at $95.5 million, Vancouver might be building towards a bigger trade, perhaps after the likes of Marco Rossi or Mario Ferraro. Mario Ferraro is an established San Jose Sharks blue-liner and is in the final year of a four-year, $13 million contract. Never once did he ask for a trade, but supposedly, he would be okay with being dealt. The Sharks have signed defenseman John Klingberg, Nick Leddy, and Dmitry Orlov, and Ferraro's roster spot can potentially be removed. And now is as good a time as any to trade the 25-year-old to a contender where he would be able to fill in as a No. 4 or 5 defenseman.
The Contract Standoff Between the Wild and Marco Rossi Continues
Meanwhile, the contract standoff between Marco Rossi and the Minnesota Wild remains unsolved. The talks have supposedly been stagnant for weeks. Rossi is worried about being underpaid on a bridge contract, while the Wild don't find the amount he's asking for worthy. NHL insider Frank Seravalli is skeptical that an offer sheet on Rossi is forthcoming at all, but isn't closing the door on a trade. A variety of teams are interested in going after a top-six talent like Rossi.

Loading from Twitter ...

Vancouver was also mentioned as a possible landing spot for Rossi by Jeff Marek, and it seems more and more likely now that they've cleared Dakota Joshua's salary off the books.
