During the interview, Forsell confirmed he would not be signing and revealed he is not disappointed by the development and instead has his focus fully on his upcoming season and contract with Färjestad. I have spoken to my American agent. It didn't come as a shock, and it's not something I'm disappointed about. I will stay here in Färjestad. I haven't really focused on anything over there, but if it comes up, I want to feel like I have the confidence to actually take on a role. I don't want to go over just because. This response from Forsell gives the impression that he was expecting this outcome and had no intentions of signing with the Canucks even if they offered him a contract. Forsell seems to indicate that he wants to earn his spot in an NHL organization and not just be given one based on the fact he was drafted.
