Today during his media availability former Vancouver Canucks captain Bo Horvat addressed the situation going on in Vancouver that led to the trade of J.T. Miller.

Earlier today current Canucks captain Quinn Hughes gave his thoughts on the J.T. Miller trade resolving the feud that had been taking place in the locker room.

With Miller gone reactions have been coming in from all across the NHL on the trade and the situation that ultimately led to the end of Miller's time with the Vancouver Canucks.

Tonight during a new interview former Canucks captain and current New York Islanders forward Bo Horvat spoke to the media and was asked about the trade and the situation between Miller and Pettersson.

Bo Horvat Opens Up About The Canucks Controversy After J.T. Miller Trade

During his interview after practice today Horvat was asked about his former team and the trade that was made.

Horvat like the rest of the world was shocked and frustrated that Miller and Pettersson could not figure out a way to make things work out in the long run.

Horvat then spoke first about Miller admitting that Miller being in the Metropolitan Division alongside the Islanders is not something he is looking forward to.

It sucks that Miller is coming to the Metro. He's a heck of a player. But, obviously, something had to be done, and they made it happen.

Then Horvat spoke about Pettersson and was asked how this whole controversy might have been impacting Pettersson's ability to play free and perform well.

I think a number of things, Horvat said. I think, definitely, all the noise behind it all. It can't be easy. You're playing in a market like that. It comes with the territory, for sure, but it can't be easy to hear about it every single day, and we're hearing about it every single day, and we're on the opposite side of the country.

In the end Horvat admits that both players are likely happy the situation is behind them and they can now move on and just play hockey.

He also believes both players will now be able to get back to the high expectations that fans have for them in the coming weeks.

If we're hearing about it every single day and we're sick of hearing about it, I couldn't imagine. I'm sure they couldn't stand it. So, it can't be easy, but again, now that it's all behind them, hopefully, they can just go play hockey.

Overall it seems that Horvat has a soft spot for both Miller and Pettersson and wants to see them both succeed and have long great careers in the NHL now that this issue has been resolved.
