Tonight, former Vancouver Canucks defenseman Frank Corrado has issued a major challenge to Elias Pettersson to have a bounce back season in 2025-26. Last season Elias Pettersson had an abysmal season with his point total being cut in half and the Canucks ultimately missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Since the end of the season, Canucks fans have shared their frustration with Pettersson and the team's core group that led to the disappointing results. Yesterday, former NHLer James Wisniewski called out Quinn Hughes for not having what it takes to win a Stanley Cup.

Loading from Twitter ...

Now, former Canuck Frank Corrado, issued a challenge to star center Elias Pettersson revealing what he needs to do to get back in good standing with the fans.
Former Canucks Defenseman Issues A Challenge To Elias Pettersson For 2025-26
During a recent episode of the Sekeres & Price Show, Corrado spoke about Pettersson's disappointing season and admitted the Swede needs a major bounce back for the Canucks to be Stanley Cup Playoff caliber. According to Corrado, Pettersson will need to eclipse 75 plus points next season to consider next season successful. As much as maybe he wasn't truly healthy, sure that's part of it, he also didn't play great. So you're trying to take your game, you know, how many levels higher than it was last year. I just think it's a reasonable expectation to say that this guy, based on his skill set and if he's having this really good summer, can be a 70-to-75 point player and build back up to being a guy who's basically an automatic going to be around a point-per-game or maybe more than that, if things really go well for him. I think 70 points is very much within his wheelhouse.

Loading from Twitter ...

This would be a 25 plus point increase from last seasons disappointing 45 point plateau that Pettersson hit. If Pettersson fails to live up to expectation the Canucks could look to blow things up and move in a new direction for the future.
