A new interview with Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil provided new insight on his continued recovery from chronic concussion issues.

The Vancouver Canucks acquired Filip Chytil in a blockbuster trade with the New York Rangers that sent J.T. Miller out of town.
When the Canucks landed Chytil he was expected to be a perfect second line center for Elias Pettersson to turn the season around.
Unfortunately, shortly into his Canucks tenure Chytil suffered the latest in a long history of concussions.
The injury limited Chytil to 15 games with the Canucks last season and brought up questions regarding the longevity of his career.
Tonight, Chytil addressed his health concerns during the 2026 Olympic Player Media tour tour in Milan, Italy.

Filip Chytil Addressed Limitations Created By Recent Injury

During the interview, Chytil was asked about his offseason training schedule and how much he has been able to do given all of the head and neck injuries in recent seasons.
Chytil admitted that he and his medical team have focused on preventing more injuries and that there are some offseason workouts he is incapable of doing that he used to be able to.
We are focusing a lot on my eyes. On my head as well. On my neck because the last couple of years were not easy for myself. So we try to focus on these things a lot. There's always things what I have to work on. I cannot do the same workout that I did three years ago

Despite these challenges, Chytil maintains the stance that he feels great and properly prepared to get back for opening night with the Canucks.
Great. I feel great. I said it at the end of the season that I feel I was ready to go offseason. I was very happy that I finished the season with the guys on the ice for a couple of practices.

Chytil has now reportedly been skating and working out for almost four months and feels positive about the impact he will be able to make.
Two weeks after I came [back to the Czech Republic] I started to work out and skate. Now it's almost four months already where I'm working out and skating. Knock on wood, I feel very good and feel very positive.

If the Canucks are going to make it back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2025-26 they are going to need a bounce back year from Filip Chytil.
Hopefully, this offseason of rest and recovery will lead him to look like a much healthier and improved version of himself.
