Tonight, Canucks forward Filip Chytil has called out members of the media for over exaggerating his injury history especially when it comes to concussions.
Recently, Filip Chytil returned to the ice after another extending absence with yet another diagnosed concussion which was the latest in a long history of them.
Due to this latest concussion, discussions began about exactly how many head injuries Chytil has sustained and if his career was in danger of ending after the most recent one.
In a new press conference, Chytil addressed these rumors and shut down reports of repeated concussions saying the number of head injuries he has sustained is highly inaccurate.
Filip Chytil calls out media for inaccurate reporting on concussion history
Chytil said recently that the number of concussions some outlets have reported him having are 'crazy' and inaccurate.
sometimes it's said in the media how many concussions I've had. The number I've seen sometimes is crazy that people can write this number when they don't know anything about it. I'm not going to say how many concussions I've had in my life, but the number the people on the internet say is crazy.
While Chytil did not confirm how many concussions he has suffered it is good to know it is likely less than fans had assumed.
Before his injury, Chytil had scored 3 goals in 6 games for the Canucks and was off to a good start and at 26 years old still has plenty of time to get his career back on track.
Hopefully, with Chytil returning to game action soon he can stay healthy and avoid any further head injuries and continue to work his way back to the player many know he can be.
