Tonight in Buffalo, the Toronto Maple Leafs select first overall at the 2026 NHL Draft and they are reportedly doing it in style.
ESPN's Emily Kaplan reports the NHL rehearsed with a major A-list celebrity to announce Toronto's pick at KeyBank Center tonight at 7 p.m. ET.

The theatrics are not without context. The Maple Leafs finished 32-36-14 this season, surrendered 299 goals against, and lost their final seven games in a row.
Finishing 28th overall in the NHL and landing the No. 1 pick in a draft this strong is a franchise-altering turn of events.
A celebrity moment fits the occasion.
But the drama around who announces the pick is already pulling attention away from the question that actually defines what comes next for this franchise.
McKenna, the consensus top prospect who put up 51 points in 35 games at Penn State this season, is widely regarded as the most dynamic talent in this draft class.
He plays with confidence, thinks the game at an elite level, and should thrive with the right structure around him.
The real test comes after the cameras leave
Chayka also inherited a roster with a minus-46 goal differential and Morgan Rielly posting minus-18 in 78 games.
One elite prospect does not repair structural problems on the blue line.
The celebrity announcement gives Toronto a moment. What Chayka builds around it gives them a direction.
