The Oilers pulled off yet another comeback in their Game 1 win vs the Golden Knights, and they became the first NHL team to win five straight games when trailing. The Oilers have been tagged with the moniker The Comeback Kids, and rightly so in Game 1 against the Golden Knights. The Edmonton Oilers carved out a little bit of NHL history Tuesday night with a 4-2 win over the Vegas Golden Knights, becoming the first team ever to record five straight comeback wins in one playoff year.

Loading from Twitter ...

This incredible run was carried on after Edmonton dropped behind 2-0 early, courtesy of a pair of quick goals by Vegas winger Mark Stone, one power play and one even-strength inside the opening 10 minutes of the first period. Even though the Oilers were behind early, they never flinched. Veteran forward Corey Perry sparked the comeback with a goal late in the first period that cut the deficit in half.
The Oilers scored three goals in the third period
Edmonton dominated the third period, tallying three consecutive goals to pull off yet another thriller comeback. In their opening-round series with the Los Angeles Kings, the Oilers were behind at some point in each of their four victories. Whether it was rebounding from a second-period disadvantage in Game 3, rebounding from a 2-0 deficit in Game 4, or rebounding from early deficits in Games 5 and 6, the Oilers routinely were able to battle back and prevail. Even though they would love to be ahead playing, Edmonton has shown that they're never behind in a game. Game 2 against Vegas, on Thursday evening, will see more fireworks if the past is any guide.
