Kris Knoblauch says Connor Ingram entered concussion protocol after Edmonton's 4-3 win in Colorado, and that Oilers update hits hard.

Knoblauch told reporters postgame that Ingram "was not allowed to come back" because of the concussion spotter, even though the goalie was feeling well at the time.
That matters fast for Edmonton's crease. Ingram is 28, a 2016 third-round pick by the Tampa Bay Lightning, and he is tracking toward UFA status after this season.
The cap angle is not nothing either. His contract carries a $1.95 million cap hit, but Edmonton's acquired charge is $1.15 million because Utah retained $800,000 in the October trade.
On the ice, this hurts because Ingram had steadied things. He is 9-6-1 for Edmonton with a 2.79 GAA and .891 save percentage, and the Oilers just grabbed a huge road win over a contender.
"It was concussion protocol. He's feeling well. Obviously, that can change, but he was not allowed to come back just because of [the] concussion spotter."

Knoblauch also called it "one of our better games" because of the simplicity, and that was the right read. Edmonton got cleaner exits, fewer cute plays, and enough middle-lane control to survive Colorado's push.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins drove the scoring with two goals, while Connor McDavid buried the winner for his 36th goal and 110th point. That is what simple hockey looks like when your stars attack off structure.

Connor Ingram changes Edmonton's next decision

You can already feel the fan tension here, because every good Oilers stretch still seems to come with a fresh crease headache.
If Ingram misses time, the next game plan likely leans harder on Tristan Jarry and on protecting the blue paint with shorter breakouts and less chaos below the goal line.
That is the bigger takeaway from Tuesday. Edmonton is now 32-25-8, and the win only feels complete if this injury update stays minor before Thursday's road date with Dallas.
