Tonight Edmonton Oilers forward Evander Kane is facing intense backlash for his actions in the final moments of the Stanley Cup Finals.

The Edmonton Oilers have fallen for a second straight season in the Stanley Cup Finals to the Florida Panthers.
With the game out of hand in the third period both teams were just looking to run out the clock and finish the season.
Full of frustration and anger Oilers forward Evander Kane sought out Matthew Tkachuk and took several big swings at him with his stick.
As a result of this play, Kane was given a 10-minute misconduct essentially ending his night.
With Kane heading off to the locker room for the rest of the third period speculation began to build regarding whether he would come out for the handshake line.
After the final horn sounded Kane was nowhere to be seen and decided to skip the handshake line entirely.
Now, in the moments after the crushing loss for the Oilers Kane is facing intense backlash online.

Since learning of Kane's decision to stay in the locker room social media has been buzzing with frustration and anger toward Kane.
Over the next few hours the media will likely speak to Kane and get an explanation for his actions both on the ice during the game and after the game in the locker room.
With the season now over the focus now shifts to the offseason for the Edmonton Oilers and most importantly locking up Connor McDavid long-term.
