The Edmonton Oilers are expected to have a busy offseason and a new report has suggested Stan Bowman will make a blockbuster move to get Connor McDavid a star linemate.
The Edmonton Oilers struggled all year long during the 2025-26 season to look like a Stanley Cup caliber team.
From defensive lapses to poor goaltending and a lack of complimentary scoring nothing was good enough for Edmonton.
One of the biggest issues was Stan Bowman's inability to find a player to compliment Connor McDavid after the regression of Zach Hyman.
With Hyman slowing down near the end of his career the Oilers are in desperate need of a new face to keep up with McDavid's rapid pace.
NHL analyst Jeff Marek has now connected the Oilers to St. Louis Blues forward Jordan Kyrou as a potential target.
Edmonton Oilers linked to Blues star forward Jordan Kyrou
A new report from analyst Jeff Marek has suggested that Kyrou could be the perfect target for the Oilers this offseason.
Kyrou has endured a rocky relationship with the Blues in recent years and reports have suggested he would welcome a change of scenery.
I would expect to hear the name Jordan Kyrou a ton this offseason as someone that can skate with Connor McDavid, and it's not exactly a secret that Kyrou's been out there for a couple of years. - Jeff Marek
Kyrou, 28, has been a consistent 60 to 70 point player for the Blues outside of this most recent season where he seemingly was not utilized properly.
Kyrou is a cerebral player with good skating that can impact play both as a passer and a scorer making him the perfect compliment to Connor McDavid.
With Kyrou coming off of a down year, he could potentially be traded for lesser value than expected especially if the Blues are looking to reset their roster.
As the offseason approaches, it will be interesting to see if the Oilers take a swing at acquiring Kyrou or if they go in a different direction.
