This afternoon, the Edmonton Oilers were hit with bad news once again as veteran forward Max Jones has been knocked out of today’s game with an injury.
The Edmonton Oilers have been struggling to the finish line after a flurry of injuries to Leon Draisaitl, Zach Hyman, and others.
In their absence, the Oilers have expected veteran depth players to step up and keep the team afloat.
One of those veterans who was moved into the top-six was Max Jones who has shown offensive firepower in short stints during his career.
Sadly, during today’s game Jones suffered an apparent injury to his knee while trying to connect on a big hit.

According to reports, Jones went to connect on a hit but fell awkwardly twisting his knee.
Jones was carried off the ice by teammates and shortly after was ruled out for the game.
Max Jones out for the rest of the game, per the broadcast.
Jones has been a solid contributor for the Oilers this season in his 20 appearances since being called up from AHL Bakersfield.
The Oilers cannot continue to afford losing key veteran pieces to their lineup with the Stanley Cup Playoffs so close to beginning.
Hopefully, the injury looked worse than it actually ends up being and Jones returns in the near future.
As more information is provided by head coach Kris Knoblauch on Jones’ injury and prognosis for the playoffs we will pass along that information.
