<a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>The Edmonton Oilers</a> have gotten their revenge, as they have claimed back Travis Dermott off waivers from the Wild, after losing him a few weeks back. The Edmonton Oilers weren't too happy that they lost Travis Dermott to <a href='<a href='https://www.nhl.com/wild/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the Minnesota Wild</a>' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the Minnesota Wild</a> on waivers a while back, <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl/news/former-oilers-defenseman-has-been-placed-on-waivers' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>so when the defenseman was waived yesterday</a>, Stan Bowman immediately pounced on him. <a href='https://www.nhl.com/oilers/player/travis-dermott-8478408' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Dermott</a> is heading back to Edmonton, as the Oilers have claimed him from the Wild on waivers, as reported by top NHL insider Elliotte Friedman. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/friedgehnic/status/1894825231002542592'> </a></blockquote></div> The former <a href='https://www.nhl.com/canucks/' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Vancouver Canuck </a> hasn't had a consistent season, and with the Oilers looking for all the depth help they can get for the playoffs, this was a smart move. But it could have also been one of revenge. <div align='center' class='pl20 pr20'><blockquote class='twitter-tweet' data-lang='en'><a href='https://twitter.com/EdmontonOilers/status/1894825789633503516'> </a></blockquote></div> <h3>Dermott attended Oilers camp on a PTO this past fall</h3> The 28-year-old attended Oilers camp on a PTO this past fall and his play earned him a one-year, two-way deal. He played in 10 games before being placed on waivers, where he was snatched up by the Minnesota Wild. Dermott ended up playing just nine games for the Wild, where he was held without a point while averaging 11:23 minutes of ice time. With the Wild's blue line back to full health, they chose to waive the veteran of 348 games, resulting in the Oilers getting some sweet revenge and bringing him back to their team. At the very least, <a href='https://www.hockeylatest.com/nhl-team/edmonton-oilers/why-travis-dermott-could-be-the-oilers-best-bet-for-defensive-depth' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>Dermott will provide depth to a team that many feel isn't deep enough</a> on the blue line or in goal to win a Stanley Cup. The back end has been called into question a lot as of late, as the Oilers have gone 0-3-0 since <a href='https://www.nhl.com/news/topic/4-nations-face-off/canada-united-states-4-nations-face-off-game-recap-february-20' class='lien_marqueur' target='_blank' rel='noopener'>the 4 Nations Face-Off</a> break while having been outscored 17-6 in the process.
