Today, Connor McDavid spoke to the media and clarified comments he made about head coach Kris Knoblauch.
The Edmonton Oilers have continued to struggle down the stretch as they look to secure a Stanley Cup Playoff spot.
On Saturday, the Oilers lost in embarrassing fashion 5-2 to the Tampa Bay Lightning and after the game McDavid highlighted coaching as the difference between the two teams.
After taking a dig at head coach Kris Knoblauch and complimenting Lightning head coach Jon Cooper, McDavid's comments went viral with people speculating about his future in Edmonton.
The speculation got so severe that McDavid addressed his comments and clarified his position on his time with the Oilers and his belief in Kris Knoblauch.

During a pre-game interview today, McDavid spoke to the media and was asked about his inflammatory comments on Knoblauch.
McDavid explained that his comments were meant more as a compliment toward the Lightning and the way their organization is run and led by Jon Cooper instead of a shot at his head coach.
We're not taking shots. It's just that everybody can be better, myself included. Everybody can be better it was just more complimentary of a great team in this league in Tampa Bay.
Even still, it seems McDavid believes there is major room for improvement at all levels in Edmonton and if the Oilers miss the playoffs things could change in a major way.
Now, it will be interesting to see if the Oilers can get back on track and cement their spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs before it's too late.
