Tonight, a nightmare scenario has occurred for the Edmonton Oilers as Connor McDavid has suffered an apparent lower body injury.

The Edmonton Oilers came into tonight’s game against the Anaheim Ducks looking to take a big 2-0 series lead.
Unfortunately for the Oilers things have gone off of the rails in the second period as Connor McDavid left the ice in severe discomfort with the Oilers trailing 2-1.
McDavid was seen heading down the tunnel after a collision with Mattias Ekholm and Ian Moore to get further treatment and diagnosis from the Oilers’ medical staff.
After being in the locker room for several minutes, McDavid returned to the ice to give skating a try and feel out his injury.

Connor McDavid returns after injury scare causing discussion over long term health

After testing out his leg, McDavid has now returned to game action and is back taking regular shifts for the Oilers.
While it seems McDavid’s injury is not serious enough to knock him out of the game it will be a situation to monitor.
If McDavid has a sprained ankle, his condition could worsen as he gets his foot out of the skate leading to his status for future games to be uncertain.
If McDavid is forced to miss any time during this series that would be a major blow to the Oilers lineup and their chances of winning the series overall against the Ducks.
As more information is provided on McDavid’s health and status for games going forward we will pass that news along to you.
