Connor McDavid is likely a very happy man today, as he has just received some very good news from Team Canada for the upcoming Four Nations Face-Off.
Sidney Crosby will captain Canada onto the international stage for a fourth time, wearing captain's 'C' at the Four Nations Face-Off, soon to occur.
This is the fourth time Crosby will captain Canada in a best-on-best competition, having guided Canada to gold at the 2010 and 2014 Olympics and a championship at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey, respectively.
Connor McDavid and Cale Makar will be alternate captains
Joining him in captain's positions will be Edmonton Oilers' Connor McDavid and Colorado Avalanche's Cale Makar, both alternate captains.
A three-time Stanley Cup champion and two-time Hart Trophy recipient, Crosby continues to build a legend career-wise, in his 20th NHL campaign having reached 600 career markers and moved to ninth in all-time points, with 54 in 53 for the current campaign.
Now in his 10th campaign, McDavid redefines offensive mastery, with his eighth 100-point campaign in sight, having become the fourth-youngest and fourth-quickest player in the NHL record books to post 1,000 career points in January of the current campaign.
Makar, at 26 years old, is shaping a Hall of Fame resume, with a Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe, Norris, and Calder trophies in tow.
Canada, America, Finland, and Sweden will face off at Four Nations Face-Off, the first best-on-best competition in six years, Feb. 12-20 in Montreal and in Boston. Fans all across the country will have their eyes peeled for this very fun event.
