His playoff performance has been nothing short of elite. Last season alone, he broke Wayne Gretzky's record for most assists in a single playoff season. Gretzky's 1988 mark of 31 assists stood for decades, until McDavid had 33. In the previous three playoffs before this one, McDavid accumulated 33, 20, and 42 points. He currently stands at 19 points, poised for yet another record. History is within grasp, once more for the Oilers' great.
