Jack Michaels reported Connor Ingram is healthy but backing up Tristan Jarry, while Adam Henrique returns as Edmonton tries to end Dallas's 12-0-1 run tonight.
That is the real pressure point, not the tweet itself. Edmonton needs a clean goalie night and a smarter bottom six.
Jarry, 30, carries a $5.375 million cap hit through 2027-28. Edmonton paid dearly for this bet in December, moving Stuart Skinner, Brett Kulak and a 2029 second-rounder to Pittsburgh.
Ingram, 28, was recalled after that move and was originally drafted by Tampa Bay in 2016, Round 3, No. 88. His health matters because Edmonton has no room for another crease scramble.
Henrique, 36, is back after landing on LTIR in January. He carries a $3 million cap hit, can hit UFA status this summer, and has 2-8-10 in 48 games.
The fit is simple. Henrique gives Kris Knoblauch another left-shot center who can win draws, settle the fourth line, and help the penalty kill.
That matters because Dallas has chewed through teams for seven weeks, outscoring opponents 52-31 during this 13-game point streak.
Adam Henrique gives the Edmonton Oilers a calmer look
Oilers fans have every right to be skeptical, because this game still feels like a goalie stress test before it feels like a statement win.
Jarry did answer the bell in Colorado, stopping 11 of 12 after relieving Ingram. Edmonton needs that version again against a Dallas team that already took the first two meetings.
Connor McDavid comes in riding a 19-game road point streak with 12-23-35 in that span. Leon Draisaitl has five goals and nine assists in his last six.
So the path is there. Edmonton must survive the Stars forecheck, get saves first, then let its stars tilt the man advantage.
If Henrique steadies the matchup lines and Jarry holds serve early, this looks less like survival and more like a playoff rehearsal on Thursday night.
