Former Utah Mammoth goaltender Connor Ingram, who is now with the Edmonton Oilers, talks about his new opportunity with his new team after leaving the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program. The Edmonton Oilers acquired goaltender Connor Ingram from the Utah Mammoth, but he's yet to see any time with them. He's playing with their AHL affiliate Bakersfield Condors, and even though it may not seem glamorous playing in the minors after having gotten used to playing in the NHL, Ingram sees it as an opportunity to help a team out. It's been great here. I haven't had to worry about anything. Just play hockey. You do want you can, play where they put you and wait your turn. That's how it works. You have to be patient. Even if I never get an opportunity (with the Oilers), I'm happy to be here and just happy to help somebody. It will be up to him to work himself back up into playing shape after having missed so much time during his stay in the NHL/NHLPA Player Assitance Program. I'm building a foundation on rock bottom. That's what it feels like some days. It's a long road back.
Connor Ingram Was Recently Reinstated By The NHL
Ingram was taken with the 88th overall pick in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning, but would play in the minors and was later traded to the Nashville Predators in 2019. A year after picking up his 1st NHL win with the Predators, he was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Coyotes, where he would play as the franchise then relocated to Salt Lake City to become the Utah Hockey Club. But Ingram would enter the NHL Player Assistance Program for the 2nd time in his career to aid with his anxiety after he sadly lost his mother to cancer.
