Bruins struggling to lock down Jermey Swayman as season approaches

The Boston Bruins and GM Don Sweeny were expected to lock up Jeremy Swayman on a long-term deal this offseason, but now, with weeks to go, the two sides remain far apart.
This offseason in Boston has been full of surprises. The team traded goaltender Linus Ullmark for a surprisingly modest return, then added Elias Lindholm as a first line center and bolstered the blue line with Nikita Zadorov, both acquired from the Vancouver Canucks. Yet, the biggest headline has been the contract standoff with Swayman, which doesn't seem close to being resolved.
Recently, Ryan Whitney revealed on the *Spittin' Chiclets* podcast that the Bruins' latest offer to Swayman was a four-year deal with a $6.2 million AAV.
That's a lowball offer for one of the NHL's most promising young goaltenders. Whether it's about term or dollars, the Bruins are four years short and at least $3.3 million apart from what Swayman is likely seeking annually.
Considering Swayman's potential, this offer places him around 10th in the NHL for goalie salaries. With his future looking incredibly bright, it's clear that Swayman feels he's worth more, and the front office might have to rethink their approach to keep him in Boston.
With the regular season just over a month away, fans only hope the team can reach an agreement soon and get their 25-year-old netminder back between the pipes-especially after losing Ullmark to the Ottawa Senators.
