The Boston Bruins' head coach Jim Montgomery provided an update on Brad Marchand's injury in a press conference.

In case you missed it, Marchand was forced to exit game three between the Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers after a dangerous dirty play by Sam Bennett.

Bennett landed a reverse hit on Marchand, but gave him a sucker punch in the face at the same time.

"Sam Bennett throwing a little rabbit punch at Brad Marchand during last night's Game 3 between the Panthers and Bruins.

Another really bad look for a Panthers forward."

Earlier this morning, the Bruins held a morning skate and their captain wasn't on the ice:

"Brad Marchand not on the ice for Bruins practice this morning after taking the Sam Bennett sneaky punch to the head in the first period last night."

Now, coach Montgomery shared additional informations to the media about Marchand's health.

He stated that he is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury.

Per Elliotte Friedman:

"Boston coach Jim Montgomery said Marchand is day-to-day with an upper-body injury, but was upset about the hit and apparent punch from Sam Bennett adding there's a history with him and «evidence of what went on.» "

With that declaration, it seems evident that he'd like for the NHL to review the incident.

The Department of Player Safety hasn't made any statement indicating they would act on the play, but they could release one later today.

Stay tuned.
