The NHL Department of Player Safety has come down hard on Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas after he injured Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews on Thursday night in Toronto.
Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas was given a game misconduct on Tuesday during their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs after his collision with captain Auston Matthews in the second period.
Not only did Gudas get a five minute major, but he was tossed from the game, which automatically triggers a review from the National Hockey League Department of Player Safety.
After a review, the NHL DPS has made their ruling, and Gudas is going to have to miss some time.
They announced that he has officially been suspended for the next five games.
The Maple Leafs have already announced that Matthews' injury is severe enough to keep him from playing for the rest of the season.
