Pierre Crinon is headed for a courtroom, and the Tom Wilson scrap just poured gasoline on the fire.

The Grenoble defenceman keeps finding the line, then stepping way over it. People are done giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Sunday at the 2026 Olympics, Crinon got tossed after dropping the gloves with Wilson in that ugly 10–2 France loss to Canada.
That fight started after Crinon clipped Nathan MacKinnon up high, and Wilson answered the old-school way.
Now the bigger consequence is off the ice. French reports say the Grenoble prosecutor has decided to pursue the old Ligue Magnus incident and send Crinon to trial on May 27, 2026.
Those are the two posts lighting up hockey timelines right now.
Back on November 30, 2025, Crinon struck Angers goalie Matthew O’Connor during the Grenoble–Angers chaos, and he caught a seven-game suspension.
In early January, that complaint was reportedly closed without further action. That is why this new prosecution angle feels like a real reversal.

Pierre Crinon makes the Grenoble case impossible to ignore

Honestly, fans are not shocked, they’re just tired of seeing the same movie with a different victim.
Crinon is 30, undrafted, and he plays a hard, punishing style at 6-foot-4. That only works when you control it.
Even his recent stat line screams “chaos,” with 33 penalty minutes in three Olympic games.
This is the part players hate, when “hockey stuff” follows you into real life.
If the court process moves forward as reported, Crinon won’t be arguing about a misconduct anymore. He’ll be answering for violence, period.
