Canadian athletes are being severely underpaid at the Olympics
The cash prizes that athletes receive when they win a medal at the Olympics has been revealed, and Canadian athletes are severely underpaid.
An article in the French newspaper "Journal de Montreal" has just revealed exactly how much every athlete gets from different countries for winning a medal, and there are some incredible differences between countries. Unfortunately for Canadian athletes, they are being heavily underpaid.
"Olympic medals don't hold the same value for all athletes. Since no cash prize is associated with the medals, it's the countries that decide to reward—or not—their athletes. They also determine the size of the prize."

Many athletes are receiving over $100,000 CAD for winning medals from their countries, yet Canadian athletes are one of the lowest paid in the world, and can only max out at $20,000 CAD. The Canadian government needs to step up and devote more funds to these hard working athletes. Enough is enough.
