American players on the Edmonton Oilers are torn between supporting their country and Oilers captain Connor McDavid of Canada in tomorrow’s gold medal game.
It will be a showdown for the ages tomorrow between Team USA and Team Canada for the gold medal in the Olympics.
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid of Canada has already made history with his scoring in the Olympics, but a few of his American Oilers teammates are torn on who to support.
Even though they support their country, they also want their captain to come back to Edmonton in a good mood, like Ohio’s Jack Roslovic, who is playing in his first year as McDavid’s teammate.
I want America to win, I’m an American through and through. But I was talking to the guys about it today and I would really like to have Connor come back in a good mood. So for me it’s a win-win, to be honest. I’m excited for him from an individual standpoint and from a country standpoint I want the USA to win. - Jack Roslovic
Whoever wins tomorrow will get gold medal glory and international play bragging rights.
Who Are American Edmonton Oilers Players Rooting For?
It’s a mixed bag for Oilers players born in the United States on who they would prefer to win the gold medal in tomorrow’s showdown between Team USA and Canada.
It’s kind of a balance, all of the guys here are obviously really close with Davo and we have a lot of Canadians in the room, you can definitely feel a shift that way. A few of us American guys are getting it from them, but first and foremost we’re excited for our teammate and excited for the game. - Spencer Stastney
Tomorrow’s game is going to start early, just after 8 ET, for those in North America.
